Stream offers two ways for Georgia customers to satisfy a deposit requirement and get your service started.

  1. Deposit Waivers

    You may be eligible for a deposit waiver, which will start your service at no additional cost, if you meet one of the following criteria:

    • You are currently 65 years of age or older with a valid ID.
    • You have had no more than one late payment over the past 12 consecutive months of service with your previous energy provider.
    • You have been determined to be a victim of family violence.
    • You are an existing customer and do not have a past due balance in 6 consecutive months.
    • You are active Military personnel and can show Military orders.
    • You are switching to Stream on a fixed-rate plan in good standing with current provider.

    Please submit your waiver documentation using the following instructions:

    • Email documentation to depositwaivers@mystream.com.
      1. Email Subject: Deposit Waiver for (insert name of account holder and state).
      2. Email Body: Please process the attached documents for (insert account number, account holder’s full name, daytime phone number and service address).
        Note: Please allow 24-48 hours for review of submitted documentation.

    • 65 or Older – You have a valid ID from the list below that shows you are 65 years of age or older. 

      Documentation Required: Copy of Birth Certificate, Valid State Driver’s License, State ID Card, Passport, Government Employee ID Card, Alien Registration Card or Consulate ID Card.

    • Letter of Credit – You have been a customer of any utility; can demonstrate you are not currently delinquent in payment; and have not had more than one late payment over the past twelve (12) consecutive months of service. 

      Documentation Required: Valid Letter of Credit/Good Standing must be sent from provider to provider.

    • Victim of Family/Domestic Violence – You have been determined to be a victim of family violence. 

      Documentation Required: Provide a copy of Family Violence Protection Order or police report with a reference to family violence.

    • Existing Customer – You have been a current Stream customer for 6 consecutive months or longer with no past due balance or disconnection notices. 

      Documentation Required: Customer Name and existing Customer Account Number.

    • Military – You are active Military personnel. 

      Documentation Required: Military orders that are less than 6 months old.

    • Switching to Stream in Good Standing – You are switching to Stream on a fixed-term plan, and have been active with current provider for at least 6 months, have valid credit history and no previous balance with Stream.

      Documentation Required: Copy of most recent invoice from current provider within the last 60 days showing no past due balance. The name and address on the provided invoice must match the new Stream account.

  2. Refundable Deposit

    The one-time refundable deposit will be refunded after you’ve made 6 consecutive one-time payments or upon termination of service. You can pay the one-time refundable deposit by calling us at 866-447-8732.
