The Power of Clean Living

Posted On: January 19, 2020

Everywhere you look, there are people, products and services looking to offer the latest in clean living essentials. But what is clean living, and what do we gain when we buy into it?

Clean living is a lifestyle that focuses on leading a healthy and natural life. This means being mindful of healthy choices in what we eat, consume and even (of course) what type of energy plan we use. Choosing a clean energy plan has huge benefits for not just your wallet, but the environment and economy, too!

Good for the Environment
The energy doesn’t emit harmful pollutants, like carbon dioxide (CO2), mercury, nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SO2). It also doesn’t damage the land unlike fossil-fuel extraction. Plus, it’s made from unlimited renewable sources, many of which use little to no water.

Good for the Economy
Clean energy creates employment opportunities in the green job sector in the U.S.; in 2018, the renewable energy industry added 110,000 new jobs¹. It brings development to rural areas, where renewable facilities are often sited to take advantage of ample space and resource potential.

We make choices every day that affect our ability to live clean. When we commit to living clean, we open ourselves to experiencing the power that our healthy choices can have. Here are a few small things you can do today to live clean.

Avoid Toxins, Chemicals and Synthetic Ingredients – A good rule of thumb is, “If it doesn’t exist in nature, avoid it.” Another good test is the pronunciation test. If you can’t easily read aloud all of the ingredients on a product, you’ll probably want to find something else.

Drink Water, A Lot – Our bodies run best when we’re fully hydrated. Carry a reusable bottle with you to flip up on H2O throughout the day.

Add Some Green to Your Diet – Plants contain protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins and nutrients and keep your body running like a well-oiled machine.

Meditate – A little goes a long way. Start with just five minutes of deep breathing with your eyes closed and gauge how you feel. Soon the stress and anxiety will melt away.

Give Power Back to the Grid – The more renewable energy that’s created, the less dependent we become on harmful energy sources. Stream has renewable energy plans and upgrades you can add to your current plant to help offset your carbon footprint. Check out our Stream Green page for more facts that illustrate the difference you could make.

Start small with these tips, and you’ll be blown away by the positive impact you can have!
